About Us
Founded in 1893, our synagogue has been a backbone of Jewish life on the Peninsula. We are the oldest congregation in the area.
Today our membership is equally committed to furthering Jewish life on the Peninsula. While not the largest congregation around, our members today are actively involved throughout the community. Our members can be found leading the way in local Jewish educational and sports programming, both in our synagogue and elsewhere.
Services at the synagogue follow traditional Orthodox ritual, including separate seating and Kosher kitchens. AJ offers a mikvah that is available for use by the entire community.
We are famous for our annual Purim carnival, attended by hundreds every year. Regular AJ programs include:
Festive parties for holidays (Sukkos, Simchas Torah, Hanukkah, Purim, etc.)
- Annual summer picnic
- Shabbos afternoon classes and Shalosh Seudos
Regardless of your level of observance, we encourage you to investigate Adath Jeshurun. We offer a family atmosphere, plenty of kids, and a comfortable, non-judgmental environment. Many of our most dedicated members had never attended an Orthodox congregation before AJ, but feel most comfortable here.
Give us a try!
